The Yobe State House of Assembly has passed a resolution to enable the state government to obtain a N5m billion loan for the electrification and provision of potable water at the 2,350 housing units under construction in the state.
The House passed the resolution after it had adopted the report of its Standing Committee on Housing and that of Finance and Appropriation on the motion requesting the resolution on the loan facility.
While shedding more light on the loan, Chairman, House Committee on Housing, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Bazuwa, said the loan will be obtained from Family Homes Funds Limited, assuring that the loan will not affect the government’s activities such as payment of salaries among others.
Recall that, the executive arm of government had, during the last plenary session, presented a request seeking the House’s resolution on the loan.
Also in the plenary, the House has passed another resolution to enable the state government to access the Central Bank’s Bridging Finance Intervention of N18 billion to cushion the effects of repayment of Federal Government intervention facilities.
In another development, the House has confirmed the appointment of Khadi Baba Gana Mahdi as substantive Grand Khadi of the state Sharia Court of Appeal.
